LHT’s Tenants’ Conference 2009
Tenants got the opportunity to meet LHT staff and gain a better understanding of what the future direction is for LHT, at the 2009 Tenants’ Conference. The Conference, which was held at Aintree Racecourse in October, was a great success and was attended by over 140 tenants, staff members and contractors.
The day provided an exciting opportunity for tenants to meet with each other and share ideas about key service areas and priorities for the coming year. Nineteen exhibition stands, from organisations such as Age Concern, Merseyside Fire Service, Dulux and LHT departments, provided tenants with information and advice.
Speakers included LHT tenant Syd Mills who opened up the conference, a representative from the Tenant Services Authority Deborah Illott, Colin Marchbank Smith from Salix Homes and LHT’s Managing Director Dave Lambert.
Dave said: “It was a really valuable event. It is important to LHT to hear tenants views directly about their priorities and how we can improve services. It demonstrates that tenants want to be proactive in the way things work here. The day was a huge success”.
Those tenants who attended participated in a number of workshops, ranging from reviewing our customer standards, looking at how we can tailor our services more for our tenants to how we tackle antisocial behaviour.
Tenants also took part in an interactive voting session on subjects such as Rents, Repairs and Maintenance, Regeneration and Complaints. Feedback from tenants given during the conference will be used to improve and shape our services and we will publicise the changes we intend to make from this in future newsletters.
The day was rounded off with a number of prize draws - many of the prizes had been donated by exhibitors and LHT teams, the exhibitor quiz winner was Jean Sharpe from Norris Green.
“The tenants conference was an opportunity for tenants to get involved and have their say and influence the future direction of LHT” said Syd Mills.
We are pleased the event was a success and look forward toholding the conference again in the future.
