Working with local communities to meet local challenges is the prime objective of LHT’s regeneration team.
The Regeneration Team coordinate and plan LHT’s approach to neighbourhood renewal.
Our regeneration strategy focuses on work around the key themes of
• young people
• local employment
• safer neighbourhoods
• equality and diversity
• economic regeneration
• the environment and
• capacity building for local residents
In addition to this we work in partnership to support and deliver projects that improve the physical environment and contribute to creating neighbourhoods where people want to stay and choose to live.
In our efforts to create cleaner, greener, safer environments we work closely with
Jigsaw to identify areas and hotspots for targeted interventions. Through our Jigsaw Youth Squad we promote neighbourhood pride and citizenship with local young people in Liverpool and Halton.
Funding
LHT provide funding to community and voluntary groups to enable them to deliver schemes and projects in their neighbourhoods. Our
Community Support Awards provides funding of up to £300, whilst our
Future Fund, which is aimed at young people, provides up to £500 for projects which address either training, education, voluntary work or community issues.
Our
‘Reach Out’ fund is a one-off grant that particularly aims to support projects that will enable people to take on new challenges and/or develop new skills, or improve or enhance the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged residents.
LHT’s
Bernie Evans Award can provide money for individuals of up to £1000 to help you pay for your course or any equipment that you need.
LIFE Model (Lead, Influence, Follow, Exit)
LHT are currently the lead association for the North Liverpool Housing Market Renewal Area. As lead we work closely with
Liverpool City Council,
New Heartlands, other RSL’s and the local communities to deliver programmes, and projects, to help minimise disruption for residents who are living through change in areas undergoing clearance and refurbishment. We also work in the Housing Market Renewal Areas in South Liverpool, Anfield, Wavertree and South Sefton. More information on the LIFE Model can be found
