Governance

As with all areas of our business, tenants and other local people are encouraged to take an active role in decision making. The LHT Board of management includes tenant representatives and local people with a special interest in social housing who give up their time voluntarily to work with our Senior Management Team (SMT).

The Board meets once a month.

Board members can be contacted by writing to Vicinity House, 12 Hanover Street, Liverpool L1 4AA.

The Board currently comprises 4 tenants, 4 independent and 2 executive (staff) members.

Recruitment of the independent Board members is done through a variety of routes – advertising, through networking, local contacts and the National Housing Federation’s Get on Board initiative.

When a tenant Board member vacancy occurs we notify all tenants, either directly or through the tenant newsletter, requesting expressions of interest. Prospective candidates are then interviewed, usually by the Chair and another Board member, and recommendations made to the Board on suitable candidates.

All Board appointments have to be approved by the Group Appointments Committee.
