Homes for the Future

By developing new and innovative ways to build our homes more cost effectively, LHT is committed to using designs and construction methods which will minimise wastage, and reduce our ‘carbon footprint’ www.carbontrust.co.uk

Since April 2009 we have delivered all our new homes to Level 3 of the Sustainable Homes Standard 

Working in Partnership LHT enjoys excellent working partnerships with house builders and developers in the following locations across the North West;


• North Liverpool - Over the next three years, we will be working closely with Barratt Homes (through David Wilson Homes to make 180 new homes available for rent and HomeBuy.

• South Liverpool - In partnership with Bellway Homes we have acquired 11 rented homes and 6 apartments available on an intermediate rent.

• Runcorn – with G & J Seddon -  we are delivering a major regeneration programme at Castlefields, replacing unpopular blocks with new build houses. As part of the Riverside Partnership, we are providing over 70 new homes at Barnfield Avenue in Murdishaw.

• Tarleton, Lancashire – in partnership with Rok Group we have developed 12 New Build HomeBuy houses.

Building Successful Neighbourhoods

We are proud of our work in Castlefields, Runcorn and as part of the second phase of regeneration we have demolished two large, unpopular, deck access blocks and built 63 new houses and flats for rent. Many tenants have moved from deck access flats into new homes and are enjoying having more space and gardens. There is still more to come – phase three has already started and by 2011 a total of 357 new homes will have been built as part of the project, which began with phase one in 2002.

Supporting Local Employment and Training Initiatives

LHT supports employment within local communities by working closely with a number of Local Authority partners.

As a major housing developer in the North West, we have entered into agreements with the Local Authorities to provide apprenticeship schemes for young adults who want to learn new skills and to gain employment in the construction industry.

In Castlefields we are working in partnership with Halton Borough Council to develop plans for an ambitious training and employment scheme with local residents, linked to the future regeneration of the area.

Supporting Others as a Development Agent

LHT acts as a development agent for a number of partner associations, which include:

Wirral Partnership Homes (WPH) - LHT was selected to partner WPH and secured a grant of two million pounds from the Homes and Communities Agency which will enable the building of many new homes, all of which are now under construction. 

Ribble Valley Homes (RVH) - LHT are overseeing the provision of new office accommodation for Ribble Valley Homes and will help to provide new affordable housing in the Ribble Valley area. 

• The Eldonian Community Based Housing Association - We are currently working in partnership to develop the Eldonians’ proposals to provide new homes on sites close to their existing stock in North Liverpool.
